New Enhancement: Status Triggers

Your favorite Merchant Services CRM has just released a new enhancement—the ability to set Status Age Triggers by counting business days!


The CRM Status Triggers allow for you to automatically execute different types of tasks whenever a lead status is changed, or when a lead remains in a status state beyond a specified period of time (the Status Age).


For example, if a lead remains in the “New” status for more than 2 days, you can configure the system to have the lead’s status automatically changed to “Attention Sales Rep” and send out a notification to the rep.


Here are a few examples of commonly used tasks that are performed when a trigger is activated:

  • Notify a User or a User Class of a Status Change
  • Send an email to an email address that is listed on a lead or a customer record
  • Disable a User that is linked to a lead based on a set of created rules
  • Assign new Users to the lead using the round-robin method

The Status Triggers are commonly used in combination with Status States to determine the exact path that your sales pipeline will follow in order to progress a record from the lead stage all the way through your customer life cycle workflow.

The Status States are fully customizable and can be organized in multiple categories:



Based upon the Status States, you can also generate lead reports to help you better manage your sales pipeline and forecasts.

Newest Status Trigger Enhancement Walkthrough


Prior to today’s update, the Status Age triggers could only be set by selecting a number of calendar days. This meant that a trigger could potentially activate and send notifications during the weekend.


In order to avoid having triggers executed during weekends, you can now simply select the “Count Business Days Only” option when configuring your Status Age trigger:



When selected, the trigger will only count business days (Monday – Friday).


For example, a trigger with a 3-day threshold that starts on a Wednesday and would normally execute on Saturday, will now run on Monday.


If this new option is not selected, the trigger will continue to count in calendar days and can execute on any day of the week.


We have also updated the saved triggers page, which now shows a new column to indicate if a States Age trigger was set to count the Business or Calendar Days:
