IRIS CRM is pleased to announce the rollout of two important Status Trigger enhancement features to your favorite Merchant Services CRM!
The first enhancement is the new ability for sending out status trigger emails automatically from a selected user (in addition to the existing “custom sender email” option).
The second enhancement is the ability to auto-assign users to a lead record as part of a status trigger when the lead’s status changes or after a certain amount of time has passed.
Let’s take a closer look at the benefits and how to begin using these Status Trigger enhancements right away!
Status States & Triggers
Firstly though, let’s recap with a few words about the benefits of Status States and Status Triggers.
Status States enables your business to determine the exact path that your sales and other departmental processes will follow in order to progress a record from the lead stage all the way through your customer lifecycle workflow.
The flow is managed by moving leads through the different Status States in several Status Categories, all of which can be customized to suit your specific needs:
Based on the Status States you can also generate lead reports to help you better manage your sales pipeline and forecasts.
In order to manage the flow of your leads even more efficiently, you can use Status Triggers in combination with the Status States.
The Status Triggers enable you to automatically perform different kinds of tasks whenever a lead status is changed or a preset time interval is exceeded (for example if a lead stays in the “New” status for more than 2 days).
Here are some of the tasks that you perform can when a trigger is activated:
- Notify a User of a Status Change
- Send an email to an email address that is listed on a lead or a customer record
- Change a Status automatically based on your settings
- Disable a user that is linked to a lead based on a set of created rules

Newest Status Trigger Enhancements and Settings Walkthrough
When you are configuring Status Triggers, you will now notice new settings that allow you to select a sender email from whom the trigger notifications will be sent from as well as the option to automatically assign users automatically:
The Set Sender From Email option allows you to select a user whose email will be used to send trigger notifications (or you can also set a custom sender email).
When you set a sender email by selecting a user from the dropdown, then the sent email statistics will be reflected in the Email Metrics and Sales Metrics report for that user.
The Assign Users setting comes with two options — assigning a user(s) to every lead that activates the current trigger, and assigning user(s) using the round-robin method (which ensures users are distributed and assigned to leads proportionately from a pool of set users).
And there you go! We hope the new enhancements will save you valuable time and make your workflows ever more efficient!
