New Feature: CRM Email Validation

New Feature: CRM Email Validation

Your favorite Merchant Services CRM has just been updated with a new feature — the automated CRM email validation!

You can now make sure that your emails are sent out to valid email addresses and greatly improve your email delivery rates!

There are several places in IRIS CRM where you can perform the email validation, including:

  • Email validation from a Lead email field
  • Email validation from the Quick Email popup
  • Email validation in the Lead importer

Let’s take a closer look!

Email Validation From a Lead Email Field

To validate an email from a Lead email field, enter an email address in the field and click Validate Email:

If the email is successfully validated, then an Email is valid confirmation message will be shown in the top right corner, as shown in this image:

Additionally, a green icon will appear next to the email, indicating a valid email:

If the email is invalid, then an Email is invalid message will be shown:

A similar message will be shown if the email has been identified as a potential spamtrap:

If an email has been found to be invalid, then a red icon will appear next to the email, indicating an invalid email:

If the email address cannot be validated using any of the available validation methods, then the below message will be shown:

If the email validation server is temporarily unavailable, then a Service Unavailable message will be shown:

Email Validation From the Quick Email Popup

To validate one or more emails from the Quick Email popup, click on the Validate button next to the Contact Email field:

Each email you entered will now be validated and the validation results will be shown below the Contact Email field:

To see an explanation of each result, hover over the question mark with your mouse for any of the validated emails:

Email Validation in the Lead Importer

Email validation can also be performed automatically when you import leads into IRIS CRM from a CSV file.

For more information on importing leads into IRIS CRM please see our knowledge base article on the Lead Importer.

After you’ve uploaded your CSV file and selected the import defaults, you will need to map CSV columns to the corresponding Lead fields.

If the field being mapped to is an email field, then you will see the Validate Emails option in the advanced mapping options, as shown in the below image:

The option allows you to automatically check if the imported emails are valid. If they’re not, you can move such emails into a separate Lead field or simply delete them, in which case they will not be imported.

After your import is completed, the import report will show the number of emails that were found to be invalid:

To view the invalid emails, click on the Total Invalid Emails number (shown in the previous image) and a new report will pop up showing more information on the failed emails:

Email Validation Reporting

To view a report on your email validation activity click Tools > Email Validation in the top navigation bar, and the Email Validation Metrics page will open, as shown in this example:

The Email Validation Metrics page rovides a detailed report of the performed email validations, and you may apply the standard filter options on your report as well as export the report to an Excel or a CSV file if needed.

To manage your email validation options go to Manage > Administration > Email > Manage Email Validation and the Email Validation page will open which show the number of emails your team has validated, the credits remaining, and also a section where you can validate an individual email quickly:

The View All Results link takes you to the Email Validation Metrics page, and the Manage Plans link takes you to the Billing page where you can review and select an appropriate email validation plan.

And that’s all for now! We hope the new feature will help you improve your email delivery rates significantly!

Stay tuned for more improvements and features coming soon!!
