Accelerate Your Learning

To celebrate the launch of The Mission Daily, we will deep dive into accelerated learning…

So, what is accelerated learning?

Learning at a faster pace than what’s considered normal or average.

The first 10 episodes of The Mission Daily are all about — you guessed it — accelerated learning. Each episode will teach you a ‘principle of accelerated learning’ and ways you can apply that principle in your everyday life.

Over the next few weeks, we will highlight one principle every day in the newsletter — so be sure to stay tuned in!

And a huge thanks to our presenting sponsor, Audible! Listeners of The Mission Daily can get a free audiobook by going to or texting ‘themission’ to 500–500.

Direct Experience

The First Principle of Accelerated Learning

“Direct Experience is experiencing things without the lens of technology or outside influence. No filters. No feedback. No family. No friends. Just you and your thoughts.

It happens when you get away from preconceived ideas or others’ opinions, and you interpret something entirely on your own. (tweet this)

You are much more prone to notice things, remember things, and have new thoughts, new insights, or new experiences when you have a minimal amount of influences.

In short, Direct Experience happens when you pursue a place where there are fewer and fewer outside inputs.”

News That Matters

Your gut is teeming with bacteria — some of which is better for you than others. Scientists at Stanford have found that:

“…it’s possible to favor the engraftment of one bacterial strain over others by manipulating the mice’s diet. The researchers also have shown it’s possible to control how much a bacterium grows in the intestine by calibrating the amount of a specific carbohydrate in each mouse’s water or food.”

The Perfect Place to Store Your Bitcoin:

Deep in the Swiss mountains is an old military bunker turned ‘bitcoin vault’.

“A bitcoin vault doesn’t store actual bitcoin units. Technically, what’s being stored are private, cryptographic keys.”

A security company called Xapo has a network of underground vaults on five continents where millionaires can stash their bitcoins.

Go here to see the crazy footage of what these bitcoin bunkers look like.

Meditation is how many of the world’s most successful people start their days. The mind and body benefits of having a daily meditation practice are boundless! That’s why we try to incorporate at least a few mins of meditation into our daily routines. 😁

Tech Trends

Capturing CO2 from the Air:

Chris Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher have turned their college research project into an innovative new tech company called Climeworks. According to Businessweek, the two “became the first people to make money by de-warming the planet, collecting CO₂ directly from the air and selling it for use in greenhouses.” 😲

Lyft’s got a new look… and one could say the poppin’ colors are ‘lyfit’ing spirits… 😅

Terrible puns aside, Lyft is embracing a very bold color palette, some new icons, and an updated font! Check it all out here.

The Best of What We Are Watching

We’ve recently discovered Orbiter 9 on Netflix! It’s a Netflix Original film made in Spain that can be best described as a ‘sci-fi romance’.✨✨

The movie follows a woman named Helena who has spent most of her life alone in a spacecraft, until an engineer comes to fix the failing oxygen system. The moment they meet, her life turns upside down as she realizes her universe is not how she thought. (Psst… prepare for a crazy twist!)
